I used to skydive a lot. And every once in a while people would ask me what the sport costs.. One guy I knew actually thought every jump cost $150, but actually only tandem jumps are that expensive. So I decided to post my expenses on the web site soon after I started jumping so others could check it out..

Note: These expenses don't include additional "tips" to packers, buying a case of beer every time you make a "first" anything (an old skydiving tradition), or gas for my old Chevy Z-71 V8 4x4 driving to other drop zones for "boogies" and hotel room costs while there..

The "Jump Cost Average" also averages in the gear and toy purchases, some of which isn't necessary. You really only need one helmet, etc..
