You must have a lot of time on your hands if you're checking out this section of the site. Maybe you need a hobby, like Skydiving! :)
Just for the hell of it I posted a history of the jobs I've worked and places I've lived during my time in Austin.. I've also posted a history of all the places I've lived around the valley in Phoenix too.
I recently added some photos and stuff on my first "geek" job at an Internet company in 1996. You can check out my GetNet.com photos here. I also found some old business cards and badges from previous jobs I've had and posted those on a page too for your amusement.
If you wanna buy me stuff, check out my Amazon.com "wish list" =) |
- I'm 37 years old, a Taurus, born May 2nd of 1971.
- I was born in Albany, New York, raised in Phoenix, Arizona for the most part, moved to Austin, Texas in late March 2000 for work and decided to stay. I've been here over 8 years now, time flies.. I love this city though.
(I put together some Google Maps of all of the places I've lived)
- I've also lived other places like Maryland (while dad worked in Washington, D.C.), Pennsylvania and Utah during my youth. I attended 10 schools total during grade school, junior high and high school.
- I'm 5'-11" tall and weigh 160 - 170 lbs (depends on how hard I've been working out, what I've been eating, and how much I've been drinking) these days -- I weigh 169 - 174 when I'm in pretty good shape.

What I do to pay the rent lately..
I used to work for dot-com's for several years, starting in tech support, then later getting into server administration and web development, and then programming and database development. After a couple of years of self-employment and slow contract work I ended up getting a support gig at a cellular company, where I worked for a little over 3½ years working data support (PDAs, BlackBerry's and laptop aircards) and mentoring other support peons. In early May of 2008 I was hired at a local data center in Austin where I do network support, help colocation customers and maintain the data center.
Stuff I'm intetrested in..
I've had lots of hobbies over the years. I used to play bass guitar in a couple of bar bands in Phoenix years ago, and I still dink around but haven't been in a band in a long time.
For a while I was really into amateur experimental rocketry and designed, and half built, a small liquid fueled rocket engine that I haven't gotten around to finishing since moving to Austin. I've also run an amateur rocketry web site since 1995, and finally got around to buying it the "rocketry.org" domain in 1998. I've been developing a new version of the site that's valid XHTML for a while now, and will hopefully finish it soon.
And in recent years I've gotten into a few geek-related things like web development, making Unreal Tournament game levels, and making QTVR panoramas of stuff around Austin.
Music I dig..
My interests in music are pretty diverse.. I like everything from pop-punk (Blink 182, Sum 41, and lots of others..) to jazz to blues to Van Halen and other old 80's "hair bands" (I know, I don't wanna hear it, heh..). I'm also a huge fan of Frank Sinatra, both his music and movies, and other "big band" music from the 1940's, and I'm a huge fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I like a little of everything, and can listen to almost anything. |
