I lived in Phoenix from 1982 through early 2000 until I moved to Austin for work at the end of March 2003. For about 7 months from October 31, 2002 through June 13, 2003 I came back to Phoenix to work. And from May 1, 2007 through September 2, 2007 I moved back to the Scottsdale area and rented a room from my old buddy Reggie.
I started playing with Google Map hacking and put together a page with maps of all the places I've lived in Austin and Phoenix and around the country. Check it out:

Room at Reggie and Dayna's House [map] [photos]
May 1, 2007 to September 2, 2007
After 7 years in Austin, Texas I moved back to the Phoenix area for the summer. I rented a room from my old friend Reggie in Scottsdale from May 1, 2007 through September 2, 2007. I was pretty burnt out and needed a break, so I left my job and apartment in Austin, moved back to Scottsdale, got a software support job for a few months, and relaxed a bunch.
During my time at Reggie's he got me into SCUBA diving, we hung out a bunch, I tanned and slacked off around his pool and back yard, and we got back to the gym and in shape again. |

While working in Phoenix I rented a room from my business partner in her apartment. It was convenient being a block away from the Sqaw Peak (Highway 51) freeway.
I took a photo of my Chevy truck I had at the time there with the cool customer Arizona license plates I had just received, and some Phoenix palm trees in the background. |

Biltmore Club Apartments [map] [floorplan]
September 18, 1999 to March 28, 2000
After leaving the apartment at Posada Valarta and my old roommate Mike McLane I moved to a nice 1-bedroom pad at Biltmore Club on the 3rd floor next to the pool.
This place issued residents a nifty garage door opener we could clip on our cars' sun visor, so when I was in the left-turn lane on 24th Street I could click it to start the gate opening before I actually made the turn in to the complex. This was the coolest place I had lived in Phoenix, the Biltmore area has everything nearby. |

Posada Vallarta Apartments [map] [floorplan]
April 30, 1999 to September 18, 1999
Reggie and Michelle split up, and I had no intention of staying in the house on Alice with Michelle, Sharon with their spoiled adolescent boys. And luckily my buddy Mikey from IRC needed a roommate, so I moved in and split the rent with him for a while.
He was a great roommate. We hung out a few times (he makes drinks that could knock out a rock star), but for the most part he was quiet, kept to himself, and it was almost like having my own pad. |

House on Alice with Reggie [map]
July 1, 1998 to November 1998
Me, Reggie, Michelle and her kid, Sharon and her kid, all moved into the then 3 bedroom house for $1,000/month. My share was $250 + utilities and food. Can't beat that.
Reggie and I spent the first couple of weeks building the door case and stuff to make a back room for me out of the Arizona room, painting, and making it a 4 bedroom house.
I ended up having a sliding glass door out to the pool and patio area, but no heat or A/C vents in my room. Yay. |

Woodbridge Apartments [map] [floorplan]
August 1, 1997 to January 31, 1998
Reggie and I rented this semi-cool "loft" apartment, Apt #198. It had a bedroom downstairs (his), and a loft upstairs (mine) that overlooked the living room.
Parking sucked here. I would get home from Getnet at around midnight and have to park a block away. |

Paradise Grove Mobile Home Park [map]
April 1, 1996 to May 27, 1997
When Erika and I separated I bought a 1982 16'x70' single-wide 3-bedroom mobile home in Paradise Grove mobile home park. It was a quiet place and I had a great view from my deck since I was in the front of the park. The place only cost $19,800 too.
I was self-employed living off of a web site I had developed for most of the time I lived here.

Smoke Tree Apartments [map] [floorplan]
August 1, 1993 to March 31, 1996
After Bay Club Erika and I moved into a studio, G21, at Smoke Tree. Then we later moved into a 1-bedroom, N22. We got married while living here.
Our old place is the upstairs unit on the left with the balcony. |

Bay Club Apartments [map]
February 1, 1993 to July 31, 1993
When Erika moved out from California we got a small studio pad at Bay Club. It was a pretty cool place with a big lake off the back patio deck.
I guess the place is called "Lakes at Metro" now. |
